Don Gillespie, artist and Fulton native,will lecture on Oswego’s Cycling History and Dave Horton, the famous one armed bicyclist of the 1890’s. He will present all of the historic research he did for his latest painting depicting a race that started in 1895 on the corner of East Mohawk and 3rd Street in Oswego, in front the mansion owned by Maxwell Richardson, and featuring Dave Horton, the famous one-armed racer.
His recently completed painting will be unveiled and donated to the Oswego County Historical Society.
The new exhibit on “Bicycles in Oswego” in the temporary gallery will also be opening that day.
